The Huntin’ and Fishin’ Club was created out of a deep love and passion for the outdoors. Founder Doug Garland, better known as “Quackhead,” grew up tagging along with his father on hunting and fishing adventures—learning early on what it means to respect the land, the wildlife, and the bonds built in the wild.

As Doug’s passion grew, so did his desire to create a space where families and outdoor lovers could come together to share their stories, skills, and traditions. In a world full of noisy social platforms, Doug wanted something real. That’s why he started HFC—a family-friendly community where members of all ages can celebrate the hunt, the catch, and the great outdoors with respect and camaraderie.

Doug lives in Houston, Texas, with his wife and four daughters. Since 2008, he’s proudly served the city as a firefighter, and he brings that same servant heart to the Huntin’ and Fishin’ Club. His mission? To build something lasting—for his kids, for yours, and for anyone who knows the value of a sunrise on the water or the stillness of the woods.
